Post-Rain Hike

This morning I took the kids to an essential oils make-and-take class where we made roller-ball blends.

It was fun and now we all smell amazing!

Simone’s blend was for her head tension pain (she gets them from car rides), the boys are seasonal relief, and mine is for congestion!

Everyone can keep their oil blend in their fanny packs.

After the class was finished, a certain red-headed boy was bursting with energy… which meant another 30/30 hike!

It had been raining for the past day and a half, but the sun was starting to shine so we put on our boots… And made newspaper boats to try to float in the puddles.

Our boats didn’t work too well… looks like we need to check out some YouTube tutorials for better designs!

Eli had the most fun with his boat!

Our hike was at Love Park β€οΈπŸ’œβ€οΈ and we decided to bring our lovely dog Daisy!

It was really fun to see the flow of the rainwater.

Edison was hilarious – first he tried hiding from me…

…then he put some “camo-mud” on his face!

Then the kids decided to try to build a dam – which they never could make tall enough!

Eli found a cool rock filled with fossils of shells!

I actually planned ahead and packed dry clothes for the kids, so after a wet hike, the kids changed and played on the playground.

Simone was twisting around and around on the swing…

…and made herself swing-sick with a headache 😒

fortunately… She has her oils from this morning with her to make her feel better 😊
